“The He Cares Ministry exists to minister and show Jesus’ love to people outside the church needing Him desperately due to homelessness, poverty, additions, abuse, crime, unplanned pregnancies or sin issues that have led to unfortunate circumstances in a person’s life.” Fulfilling the Great Commission – Matthew 25:31-46
“The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'” (Matthew 25:40)
The “He Cares” team is The Well’s outreach ministry. As a church we believe that we have a responsibility to not only minister to the people in our church, but, also show Jesus’ love to those outside the church needing Him desperately.
God has put it in our hearts to extend the love, forgiveness and mercy He has shown to us to those in need, seeing them as He sees them. We do this by showing them the salvation God is offering to everyone and what He can do in their lives – whether they face poverty, homelessness, addiction, abuse, diseases, unplanned pregnancy or other issues. When bringing the Good News to the needy, we also bring some of the resources with us that God has blessed us with – in the form of worship, prayer, and practical help like clothes and food. However, our focus is the spiritual needs and how the Lord can help with those.
The “He Cares” ministry teams up with selected Christian organizations who work with the homeless, poor, or needy on a daily basis and we walk along with and serve them with our team of volunteers and resources. On a monthly basis “He Cares” teams go out to serve the needy in San Francisco, Richmond, Oakland, Livermore and other places where the teams are called by God.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28).
