Psalms illuminate the greatness of our God, affirms His faithfulness to us in times of trouble, and reminds us of the absolute centrality of His Word. Through the Psalms, we learn about the importance of prayer and the acknowledgment of pain, as well as the power of praise and fulfillment of prophecy. Psalms is designed as a prayer book for God's people as they wait for the arrival of the Messiah, and the fulfillment of God's promises. In addition to King David, some other authors of Psalms include Solomon, Asaph, Moses, and the three sons of Korah.
